The Department of Sports of NPU originated from the Physical Education Group of NPU in 1938. In 1957, the Physical Education Teaching and Research Department of NPU was established and renamed the Physical Education Department in 1990. It is an independent teaching and academic support unit of NPU.The Sports Department adheres to the school motto of "Honesty, Courage and Perseverance", the school spirit of "Three Facts and a New Spirit", and adheres to the school philosophy of "student-oriented, education-oriented, scholarship-oriented, academically oriented and response-oriented".
